You help shape the stores of tomorrow
At The Category & Trade Company, everything revolves around growth — of brands, stores and people.
As a Category Management Specialist, you help millions of consumers make more informed choices every day. With your insights, you enable retailers and suppliers to shape their categories in smarter, more sustainable and future-focused ways.
Why this work matters
Retail is changing at lightning speed. Shoppers think differently, shop differently and expect more. You help our clients not just respond to these changes, but actively shape the future of retail.
Whether it’s food, non-food or e-commerce, your advice has a direct impact on what consumers will be putting in their baskets tomorrow.
Here’s what you’ll do
- No two days are the same: you’ll work on challenging category management projects for various retailers and suppliers across sectors such as FMCG, food, drugstore, non-food, DIY and e-commerce.
- You’ll translate data and market insights into concrete improvements on the shop floor.
- You’ll develop creative solutions for clients and challenge them to think beyond the obvious.
- You’ll work closely with fellow experts — from home, at the client’s site or at our office in Amersfoort.
Who you are
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 1–5 years of experience in retail or FMCG.
- You’re analytical, curious and able to turn data into insights.
- You have the confidence to make decisions and bring new ideas to the table.
- You’re a strong communicator who enjoys working collaboratively.
- You’re results-driven with a commercial mindset.
- You want to grow — both professionally and personally.
- You’re available 32–40 hours per week and willing to travel to various clients across the country.
What we have to offer
- Personal coaching and sparring with fellow experts
- Expert Days at our Amersfoort office focused on knowledge sharing and co-creation
- Opportunities to deepen or broaden your expertise through training or exploring new sectors
- Hybrid working at client sites, with a healthy work–life balance
- A close-knit team that supports each other — and enjoys working together
Your experience will have the space to grow in the direction that matters most to you.
